The primary ever Lego set based mostly on an actual band, contains unique RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook minifigures.
There have been Lego units based mostly on all the things from classic artwork to Star Wars starships, but a recreation of BTS’ Dynamite music video is something new.
It’s part of the Lego Ideas line, which are models that fans design and then vote for. Once someone gets over 10,000 votes, Lego will line it up to be eligible for an actual set, and once it’s released, the original creators get a percentage of the profits.
BTS fans made sure it was chosen and the end result is not only seven exclusive minifigures, but also the set from the video, including the donut shop, ice cream truck and record shop.
The model was designed by friends Josh, 20, from Indian and Jacob, 21, from New York. “Josh did the build and design work, and as a huge BTS fan, I told him what should be in it, what details were most important,” says Jacob.
“Jacob had the BTS knowledge and he was able to steer my build the right way,” Josh agrees. “I watched the video clip over and over and tried to capture its essence in the Lego bricks. It was insane when the project went viral online overnight.”
The set consists of 749 pieces and measures 38cm long and 14cm long, although all of the individual buildings can be detached and rearranged as you please, so you don’t have to just have the setup in the photos.
It costs £89.99, but that’s unavoidable given how many minifigures there are. It doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but it will be on sale from Lego stores and the official ones from the beginning of March Lego website.
