Apart from a second Resident Evil collaboration, Fortnite is rumored to be adding an Attack On Titan crossover, but it will only feature one skin.
With Fortnite’s current season slated to end next week on March 8, you can probably expect Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 to kick off a day or so later.
As with every new Fortnite season, a number of details have already leaked before any official announcement from Epic Games, the most intriguing of which is the inevitable next batch of crossover character skins.
Reliable Fortnite leakers have claimed to know of two major crossovers that will be included in the next season. The first is another Resident Evil collaboration with Capcom, and the second is another anime-related crossover: Attack On Titan.
While no images of the skins in question have been shared, two speakers on Twitter – HYPEX and ShiinaBR – have revealed exactly which characters from both franchises are coming to Fortnite next season.
From Resident Evil we have returning protagonists Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who will be available through the in-game store.
Unlike previous anime crossovers like those of Dragon Ball Z and My Hero Academia, Attack On Titan will only get one skin – main character Eren Yeager – which will be part of the season’s battle pass.
The timing of these crossovers makes perfect sense, as March is an important month for both franchises.
On March 24, the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil 4 launches and coincidentally stars the aforementioned Leon.
Claire isn’t expected to appear in the remake (she wasn’t in the original game, either), but her inclusion in Fortnite is likely due to her being a popular Resident Evil character in her own right and along with Leon plays the lead role in Resident Evil 2.
As for Attack On Titan, the show finally returns this weekend on Saturday, March 4 with a one-hour special. This special kicks off the final arc of the show, with a second special airing later in the year as the show’s grand finale.
Presumably, these crossovers will feature other related cosmetics such as emotes and gliders, but no details have been leaked on that. Anyway, fans will only have to wait another week for Epic Games to make a proper announcement.
In the meantime, an Adonis Creed skin based on Creed 3 recently arrived on the in-game store and it includes a Bionic Creed variant that gives him some robot armor.
Fortnite is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
