Jennifer Garner doesn’t want to read about her ex in the press, and who can blame her?
The actress has shared how “hard” she works to avoid reading stories about Ben Affleck because it doesn’t make her “feel good.”
The couple were married from 2005 to 2018 and have remained on friendly terms as they co-parent three children: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 11.
Ben, 50, is now married to Jennifer Lopez, 53, having rekindled their romance 20 years after they first got together.
And while 13 Going On 30 star Jennifer has no issues with her ex’s new marriage, she prefers not to see it all online.
“I work really hard not to see either of us in the press,” the 50-year-old told Stellar Magazine.
“It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s a nice thing about one of us.
“I just try to forget that I’m there in any way, and the same goes for everyone I love.”
She added, “I don’t have to make a meme out of anyone in my family.”
When asked if she’d seen any of the memes about her kids’ father (Ben recently made waves on the internet with his Grammy expressions), she said she hadn’t.
Jennifer jokingly added, “Although I’m sure he’s meme-worthy, yes!”
The Alias star is now in a relationship with her businessman boyfriend John Miller and has been since 2018.
Speaking ahead of Ben’s wedding to JLo in 2022, Jennifer said yes happy for the couple.
A source claimed that Ben informed his ex-wife about his impending marriage before their engagement was made public.
“Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew. Jen is happy for Ben. And know that JLo has been a positive influence in some ways,” the insider said.
However, things between Ben and ex Jennifer haven’t been all rosy in recent years, as the Gone Girl actor sparked controversy when he explained that he started drinking as their relationship crumbled.
Many interpreted his comments as if Ben attributed his alcoholism to Jennifer.
Sources then claimed his new wife JLo was not happy with the comments and “didn’t want to get dragged into any drama.”
The insider initially told Page Six, “She met Jennifer Garner. She tries to get to know her and Ben’s children. It’s reckless and arrogant of him.’
However, the On The Floor singer later dismissed the claims and told it off People“This story simply would not add up. It is not how I really feel. I could not have extra respect for Ben as a father, co-parent and particular person.”
