Keenan Brand and Claudia Fogarty were evicted from the villa by Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda, after the latter were given the unenviable task of choosing who to go with them after being dumped themselves.
Rosie Seabrook and Casey O’Gorman, and Tanya Manhenga with other half Shaq Muhammad, were also vulnerable after being voted the least compatible couples by the public.
But in the end, it was Keenan and Claudia who said goodbye to their Love Island experience and hopped in a cab with the other two – much to the delight of viewers back home.
Then, in a classic Love Island ending to the show, things got heated after a Sports Day challenge went wrong for Tom Clare when his rival team started cheating.
After a bit of banter and joking about the islander, whom the boys called a “sore loser,” the fun turned sour when Shaq took the joke just, er, a little too far.

Shaq’s partner Tanya told him to stop being “petty” when jokes turned into jokes after the challenge, which saw two teams take part in the Love Island sports day.
But tensions rose in a controversial egg and spoon race, which the red team won after appearing to use their thumbs to secure their fragile goods.
But the cheating continued, as did the teasing, as the team chanted “Tom is about to cry” when they noticed he was visibly upset by the unsportsmanlike conduct.
In the evening, tensions reached a breaking point between Shaq and Tom after the cheating red team won – and gloated, a lot.
The boys went on a “poke the bear mission,” to which Tom told viewers “they need to know when enough is enough sometimes.”
Casey called him the “worst loser of them all” and handed him a trophy, and Shaq dove in and told him to “smile.”
Laughter erupted and things got awkward as Shaq kept bombarding Tom with jokes, and Tanya asked Shaq ‘are you done now’ amid an awkward silence.
Eek.
Some viewers sided with Tom and others with Shaq, whereas most had been simply irritated with the pair.
One particular person requested ‘the place does this argument come from’ whereas one other stated ‘that is essentially the most petty solid ever, the truth that they will make an enormous argument about sports activities day is hilarious’. [sic]
One other puzzled, “Why is Shaq making an attempt to start out a struggle?”
“Tom is so emotional concerning the smallest issues, however informal as hell about what actually issues,” wrote one other.
No matter their opinion, Love Islanders appeared invested within the episode, which has been a bit of extra dramatic than others recently.
One fan summed it up: “Here is what love island has been lacking: a little bit of gossip, random arguments, islanders expressing unsolicited opinions about one another. That complete kumbaya, simply spilling the tea in interviews and podcasts after the present, is boring imo.’ [sic]
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
