One of the iconic songs of the 2000s, hollaback woman, is definitely a diss monitor aimed toward 90s rocker Courtney Love.
Gwen Stefani wrote the track after Love gave an interview wherein she shaded the No Doubt singer.
“Being well-known is like being in highschool. However I am not fascinated about being the cheerleader. I am not fascinated about being Gwen Stefani. She’s the cheerleader and I am within the smoking shed. And lots of of you might be there within the smoker’s shed too. Relating to rock ‘n’ roll, it is like highschool.”
In response, Stefani wrote Hollaback woman and the music video revolves across the theme of cheerleaders.
“You already know, somebody as soon as known as me a cheerleader, negatively, and I’ve by no means been a cheerleader,” Stefani informed music publication NME in 2005.
“So I used to be like, ‘Okay, f-ck you. You need me to be a cheerleader? Properly, I will be one. And I will rule the entire world, simply have a look at me.'”
