It seems to be unhealthy The Union J reunion tour continues – and the fans are not happy.
The band – who formed on The X Factor in 2012 before officially breaking up in 2019 – announced last December that they would be hitting the road for a special reunion tour in spring 2023.
Dates included Newcastle’s O2 City Hall on May 26 and the finish at Liverpool’s Empire Theater on June 3.
However, previously excited fans were left furious after they reportedly received emails from Ticketmaster saying their tickets to the shows had been refunded.
A fan shared the message she received from the Empire Theatre, which read: ‘Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the show’s promoters have made the difficult decision to cancel the performance that was due to take place on June 3, 2023.
“We understand the disappointment this will cause and apologize for any inconvenience.”
The upset fan wrote alongside her tweet, “Their silence on all of this is actually disrespectful.”
She wasn’t alone in claiming to have received information about a refund, as another tweeted, “I was so confused when I got the email and saw they haven’t said anything.”
Others also expressed frustration after spending a lot of money on tour costs.
‘It’s safe to say I won’t risk losing any more money on this tire in the future! Yes we have money back but some of us have lost money in travel and hotels felt like this was going to happen but it was horribly handled!” one fan tweeted.
No wonder the Union J tour has been cancelled, for a band that had been gone for years they needed a LOT more promo to successfully sell tickets. Fans completely out of order had to find out through emails from the ticket companies and not the band or management themselves,” another wrote.
One other blast: ‘union j is “all in regards to the followers,” however could not even announce the tour’s cancellation herself after preserving us all in the dead of night for months. upset tbh’.
The group’s official social media pages have but to share a proper announcement, as they have been inactive for weeks on their Instagram web page — which has 244,000 followers.
Nevertheless, they’ve continued to put up to their particular person accounts with out addressing the matter.
Union J, together with George Shelley, who left the group in 2016, had been put collectively as a four-piece on Simon Cowell’s ITV expertise present.
They had been initially signed to RCA Information and launched their first single, Carry You, in June 2013, adopted shortly by Stunning Life.
Former Stereo Kicks singer and fellow X Issue Casey Johnson changed George in 2016, however the band’s bosses quickly dropped him.
George was imagined to rejoin his bandmates for the reunion exhibits later this yr, however judging by e-mails from ticketing corporations, that does not appear to be occurring.
Union J representatives have been contacted for remark.
