Initially designed in 1958 by the Finnish inside designer Oliver Ottelthe attribute Jumbo lounge chair has been reissued by Fasetti. Launched as a “again chair” and named after Ottelin’s eldest son – properly, his nickname – it was a stylish addition to fireplaces and low brick row homes of the time. The up to date Jumbo lounge chair respects the designer’s materials and colour decisions and subtly adapts them to modern requirements. The seat top has been raised, retaining the proportions of the unique chair, and redwood has been changed with native birch wooden.
Jumbo’s body is product of bent wood elements that merge into the legs of the chair. Fasetti’s craftsmen selected pine for the wood-colored model, in honor of Ottelin’s in depth wood furniture manufacturing and his love of conventional leisure furnishings.
“Olof Ottelin’s design combines many points that we worth, reminiscent of an understanding of carpentry and refined detailing and performance,” mentioned Fasetti craftsman, Esa Niiranen. “The addition of Jumbo to the brand new manufacturing is a logical extension of our vary of family design treasures from the Forties to the Seventies.”
The body of the Jumbo lounge chair is on the market in pure pine, opaque pink, dove grey or charcoal black. Upholstery choices embrace Makalu, a comfortable teddy material from Lauritzon in pine, Hallingdal, a traditional wool material from Kvadrat in pink, and Coda, a comfortable three-dimensional, two-tone woven material from Kvadrat in dove grey and black. All variations have armrests in vegetable-tanned and undyed Sörensen leather-based.
