Winter Love Island 2023 is underway and it’s time for the highly anticipated Casa Amor section.
Casa Amor has been a part of Love Island since series three in 2017, presenting the ultimate obstacle for existing couples in the villa to overcome.
It also gives those islanders who are currently single – or not so in love with their current couple – the chance to find a potential new love.
In the episode that aired on Sunday, February 12, fans saw the girls being taken to Casa Amor where they were introduced to six new boys, including Martin Akinola, the boyfriend of series eight star Dami Hope.
And it wasn’t long before Olivia Hawkins was so distracted that she momentarily forgot the name of partner Kai Fagan…
Meanwhile, the existing boys stayed in the villa, but soon six newcomers joined, including Layla Al-Momani, who has a famous ex, and Sammy James from Dubai.

So, now it all starts, how exactly does Casa Amor work? And are there any rules?
What are the rules for Casa Amor participants?
Every year since 2017, Love Island has lined up several new entrants around the middle of the program to spice things up a bit.
It tests existing relationships, while also giving single islanders the chance to meet new people.
This year, the girls have been sent to Casa Amor, a spin-off of the main villa used only during the dramatic shake-up.
Six new boys will arrive in Casa Amor like bombs, while six new girls will get to know the boys in the main villa.
Over the next few days, the remaining islanders can see if they begin to develop a bond with one of the newcomers – or decide to stay true to their existing pair.
The show’s producers often tease the original islanders by sending postcards showing the boys or girls, in compromising positions with new islanders.
At the end of the experience, existing participants decide if they want to stay in their current couples, or start with someone new, and take them to the main villa.
The new islanders who are not chosen are dumped off the island immediately afterwards.
However, if someone recouples but their partner does not, their existing partner automatically becomes single and risks being sent home.
So there are some pretty intense days coming up, but will any of the guys or girls turn their heads? Time will tell…
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
