However, it seems someone else caught his eye – none other than the show’s fabulous host Maya Jama, leaving fans stunned after witnessing him attempt to “shoot his shot” on live TV.
On Sunday night, 27-year-old Martin made his way to the Love Island: Aftersun studio to tell Maya, 28, and the audience how he felt after becoming the latest islander to be dumped from the 2023 winter series.
Maya asked him what it was like when he first arrived at the main villa with Tanya on his arm, remembering telling Tanya that he didn’t want to be a “test” for her.
“I told her, ‘I don’t want to be a test, but I want to go to the main villa because you think we have a good relationship.’ She said, “Yeah, we’re really close, blah blah blah,” he said.
Martin then admitted how distracted he ended up getting with Maya as the presenter stood right in front of him and confessed, “So we’re going to the main villa.” I’m there to try…you know…of course I had the beautiful Maya in front of me.”

Maya’s head spun around and looked shocked at the audience as they booed and cheered at Martin’s revelation.
Being the pro that she is, Maya went back to Martin with another question to keep the conversation going.
Nevertheless, the fans at home were stunned by the senior software engineer seemingly attacking Maya for all to see.
“Martin really tried to drop the game on Maya on live TV,” one person tweeted, while another said, “Martin!!! Did you just take your shot at Maya Jama???🤭 I love this man.”
“The look Maya simply gave to the digital camera 🤣 not Martin who moved to Maya,” another person commented, whereas others commented on how continually they have been entertained by Martin over the previous few days.
On the latest film night time on the villa, earlier than Martin was eradicated, he turned the meme of the collection as he sat on the boys’ desk and devoured up his popcorn as drama erupted between the opposite islanders.
It was particularly humorous for viewers, as Martin watched one other struggle escape between Tanya and Shaq after they reconciled.
“Martin was like, That is what I needed to see CHAOS,” one particular person tweeted on the time, whereas one other stated, “I am crying. Martin actually had the time of his life.’
Love Island returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
