A source told The Sun: ‘Love Island might look very sexy on the television but behind the scenes there has been a bug going around.
‘As well as rushing to the Beach Hut for a chat, the islanders have also been dashing off to use the loo.
‘It has been pretty rough for some of them. Some of the production team have also been affected by the sickness bug.’

While the illness may have torn its way through the group, the stars are still doing their best to impress their partners.
It comes after Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown was left seething after learning Tom Clare had kissed Ellie Spence just hours after he split from Zara.
Model and property developer Zara, 25, and semi-professional footballer Tom, 23, were previously coupled-up but they decided to end their romance during Sunday night’s episode.
Tom left Zara fuming after he said fellow Islander Olivia Hawkins, 27, had the ‘best face’ while Zara had the ‘best body’ during a game of truth and dare, prompting Zara to burst into tears during Sunday’s episode.

And on Monday, Zara was left raging after Tanya Manhenga, 22, told her Tom and Ellie had already shared a secret kiss in the villa.
Tanya told Zara: ‘Ellie confided in Will. He said, ‘Ellie kissed Tom on the f**king terrace.’ And no one knows.’
A shocked Zara asked: ‘When?!’ She continued: ‘When I say he’s a busy boy, yeah…’

Moving on: On Monday, Zara was left raging after Tanya Manhenga, 22, told her Tom and Ellie (pictured) had shared a secret kiss in the villa
Unable to contain herself, Tanya giggled: ‘What a little player! It gets worse. After that kiss, Tom came down and said to Shaq, ‘Oh yeah…’ He was like, ‘Come on, bro. What happened?’
‘And he was like, ‘Oh nothing. She is flirty though.’ He didn’t even tell the boys. That’s why I’m thinking Tom is sneaky. He’s not just a nice guy anymore.
‘He’s dangling Ellie. Ellie’s into Tom. And we all thought he was so… I’m going to make myself calm. You need it as well, so just wait with me.’
Shook: Zara couldn’t hide her reaction after Tanya let slip the gossip
Spilling the beans: Tanya (left) told Zara (right): ‘Ellie confided in Will. He said, ‘Ellie kissed Tom on the f**king terrace.’ And no on knows’
Come on girl! Zara insisted she must be the one to tell Olivia
Zara asked: ‘So Ellie told Will?’
To which Tanya replied: ‘Ellie told Will, yeah. So I was like, ‘You need to tell Ellie to tell Olivia.”
Zara hit back: ‘Yeah, that needs to come from her. If not, I’m going to tell Liv. I’m going to tell Ellie that I know.’
This way: Zara all but marched Tanya up the stairs to go and tell Olivia
Clearly feeling awkward, Tanya said: ‘Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, not yet. Wait to Will comes back.’
Zara responded: ‘How can I sit on this bad boy piece of information?’
A desperate Tanya said: ‘No, but I told you I wasn’t going to keep it in.’
However, a defiant Zara protested: ‘I’m telling Liv, I’m telling Liv. This girl needs to know. Girl power, man!’
Fuming as she ran up the stairs to the terrace where Olivia was sitting with Spencer Wilks, 24, Zara shouted: ‘Bed’s not eve f**king cold, bro. I’m still in it, I’m still in it. He’s in the dog house tonight.’
It comes after Zara burst into floods of tears and said Tom was giving her ‘mad ick’ after he said he preferred Olivia’s face.
Last week, viewers watched as the footballer said Zara’s rival Olivia had the ‘best face’ while she had the ‘best body’ during a game of truth and dare.
And during Sunday night’s episode, Zara was left furious as she broke down into tears and told Tom to ‘move from me’ as she became frustrated with his choices after the game, with the pair later agreeing to park their romance.
On the rocks? Zara burst into floods of tears and said Tom was giving her ‘mad ick’ after he said he liked Olivia more than her during Sunday’s episode
When asked by Lana Jenkins if she was ok, Zara said: ‘No, I just can’t be a***d. All the girls picked Tom. Liv picked Tom like twice. He picked Liv’s face. I’m not just some f*****g booty to you.’
She continued: ‘He’s giving me mad ick. If you don’t like me, move from me. I just don’t understand it.
‘One minute he’s saying he’s all for me then he wants to get to know other people? Why is he saying he likes her face?’
Drama: In a truth or dare game, Tom named the three Islanders that would make up his ideal partner, choosing Olivia for face and Zara for body (Olivia is seen on the show)
In the Beach Hut, she added: ‘At this point, it’s actually exhausting.’
Lana then told Tom what had been said, prompting him to say in the Beach Hut: ‘The initial attraction is there with me and Zara but, will it last?
‘I don’t want drama, I want someone to come home to and they’re lifting me up and boosting me, it’s probably been a bit of a wake up call for me tonight, i needed it.’
End of the road: Pulling Tom for a chat later on in a bid to clear the air, Zara and Tom mutually agreed it was best they remained just friends going forward
Pulling Tom for a chat later on in a bid to clear the air, Zara and Tom mutually agreed it was best they remained just friends going forward rather than trying to ‘force’ a romance.
Attempting to cover his tracks, Tom of his choices during the game: ‘I just thought whatever I would have picked, there would have been no good outcome.’
Zara told him: ‘I just thought there was no coming back from that.
Honest opinion: Speaking of the choices Tom made during the game of truth or dare, Zara told him: ‘I just thought there was no coming back from that’
‘There’s days when I want it to work and you’re confused, days when you want it to work and you’re confused.
‘I think there has been a lot of drama and headaches and confusion, and for this to happen this early on, it’s too much.’
Telling her he agreed it would be best to be friends, Tom said: ‘I think you’re a top girl and you have good intentions. I’ll always be here for you.’
Feeling’s mutual: Telling her he agreed it would be best to be friends, Tom said: ‘I think you’re a top girl and you have good intentions. I’ll always be here for you’
It came after Olivia was asked who she is most attracted to during the game and kissed Tom and Spencer, further fuelling her rift with Zara.
Tom also risked putting his romance with Zara on the rocks during the episode when he admitted he would like to get to know Ellie Spence despite being coupled-up with her.
Semi-professional footballer Tom pulled law firm Business Development Executive Ellie, 23, for a chat after she entered the villa as a bombshell this week.
As they chatted privately, Tom assured Ellie that he wanted to get to know her, insisting that he is not ‘exclusive’ with Zara.
‘I ain’t exclusive, do you know what I mean,’ he said when Ellie asked him how to felt about his current partner Zara and Ellie’s fellow newcomer Spencer Wilks, 24, talking.
When Tom said he wasn’t ‘bothered’ by it, Ellie replied: ‘That’s a bit of a red flag.’

But Tom hit back: ‘She’s not my girl, how much do you fancy me?’
A flirty Ellie then referenced Zara’s row with Olivia, saying: ‘You’ve really surprised me, you’re so funny and we just get each other’s banter. I thought after the drama you’d be like no.’
But Tom insisted that he is interested in getting to know her and told Ellie to be ‘honest’ about it if Zara asked her.
Zara makes out like you are solid,’ Ellie said.
To which Tom said: ‘I’m only in here once and you’re fit. I want to get to know you 100 per cent.’
Zara was then seen catching to Tanyel Revan, 26, fuming that she didn’t want any ‘mixed signals’ from him.
‘I don’t need mixed signals, I don’t need any doubt. I don’t think I should be allowing it in here,’ she said.
Love Island continues on Tuesday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
