But it was interesting to see how Ella’s deadpan expression was interpreted on social media, as so many have labeled her as rude, mean girl and even “scary.”
Well I’m here to protect Ella and her frown because she just has a case of the Resting Bitch Face (RBF) and so do I.
RBF is a facial expression where someone typically looks annoyed, bored or, you know, just not smiling. For many of us with RBF it’s not something we can help and scientists have even said it actually exists and is mostly associated with women – women are judged by their looks, shocking!
In 2015, a study conducted by scientists Abbe Macbeth and Jason Rogers of Noldus Information Technology found that women are more likely to be asked to “smile more” than men.
“So RBF isn’t necessarily something that’s more common in women, but we’re more likely to notice it in women because women put more pressure on them to be happy and smiley and get along with others,” Macbeth said in the research. according to The Washington Post.

I’ve experienced it countless times in the past when I was walking down the street and a random man I don’t know asked me to “smile” which, I can assure you, only amplified my RBF.
It looks like Ella’s lack of smiles has led some to evaluate her character, when when you look previous the resting b***h face you understand she comes throughout as a candy and real one who has confirmed to have the backs of the opposite women within the villa.
