Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has given birth to her first child.
The 28-year-old has welcomed a little girl, whose name she has revealed is Lucia.
“My dear Lucia, I wish I had you sooner so I could love you longer ✨💗,” she wrote in a message announcing the birth.
The new mom also shared on social media that Lucia was born at 8:10pm on Tuesday weighing 8lb 8oz.
Her friends quickly rushed to the comments and congratulated Shaughna and her new toddler.
‘Yes she’s here! 💕 congratulations 🥂,” wrote comedian Katherine Ryan, while influencer Sophie Hinchcliffe shared, “Aww congratulations beautiful ❤️❤️🥲🥲 sending lots of love your way xx’
“Congratulations gorgeous girl 😍,” former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison added.
Shaughna then added a gorgeous photo of Lucia in a white blanket in her crib at home, with Adele’s hit ballad Make You Feel My Love accompanying the photo to her Instagram Stories.
“The song that was playing when you came into the world, no truer word my dear,” she wrote in the caption.
The new mom then added the initials “LPW” and a white heart emoji, teasing Lucia’s as-yet-unknown middle name and the apparent fact that she will. take her father’s surname Billy Webb.
Their relationship has gone through some turbulent times after Billy, 29, was arrested and charged in January with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
Shaughna then made an emotional statement about his arrest and the impact it has had on her pregnancy.
“Of course, after a few challenging weeks, the baby’s father isn’t here. But my main focus has always been to prepare for the birth and stay as calm as possible,” she shared with OK!.
“I’m good at just saying, ‘Okay, the show has to go on.'”
The former reality star continued: “Billy isn’t here, but I wouldn’t say I’m going it alone because I’m definitely not – my family is incredible.
‘It will be different, but I don’t want to say it’s going badly.’
A representative for Shaughna told me Metro.nl that the reality star was unaware of the crimes.
Days before she was due to welcome Lucia, Shaughna said she would be induced after passing her due date of March 25.
She had also been rushed to hospital a few weeks earlier after her baby stopped moving.
In her column with OK! the star said she visited the hospital because she was experiencing decreased movements, but luckily everything “turned out to be fine.”
However, she then panicked when faced with the prospect of giving birth to her child when a doctor approached her about induction.
“Because I was 38 weeks pregnant, the doctor told me they would induce me,” she began.
“I panicked a lot and I told them I didn’t feel ready to give birth, but they held me overnight and took me to a postnatal ward where babies had already been born.”
Shaughna shared that she felt she was “pressured to take an introductory course” [she] wasn’t ready,” and found the experience “traumatizing.”
However, after an overnight stay in hospital, the star was presented with other options for her pregnancy.
“Fortunately, another doctor came the next day and told me I had other options, but now I’m definitely ready for the baby’s arrival,” she added.
The influencer had also unexpectedly made a sprint to the hospital earlier at the beginning of last month after giving birth early.
