Love Island 2023 is just around the corner – and we really can’t wait.
Fans of the ITV2 reality dating show will know that this time of year brings with it a Majorcan villa full of new contestants looking for love.
Many will be eager to spend their summer weeknights catching up on all the drama, romance, and (hopefully) multiple jaw-dropping twists as host Maya Jama opens the doors to yet another sizzling series.
Summer can’t really begin until Love Island has started, so when does the show start this year?
Here’s everything you need to know.
When does Love Island 2023 start?
It has been confirmed that Love Island will start again in the summer Monday, June 5 from 9 p.m.
The summer series is the 10th to be broadcast overall, coming shortly after the end of series nine in winter 2022/23 – which was filmed in South Africa and aired in March.
The £50,000 prize was won by Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan – while fans will know that Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti have been crowned the 2022 winners of the past summer series.
Producers are likely hoping for better reception to the main series this year.
The 2023 winter series saw the show drop to its lowest ratings in seven years – even though new presenter Maya Jama proved to be a huge hit with fans in her first series after Laura Whitmore’s departure.
Despite this, the winter show is reportedly being brought back by ITV2 next year.
When could the Love Island 2023 summer series end?
The series is expected to run for a total of eight weeks.
So, doing a quick math, if the show starts on June 5, we can expect the finale to drop on or around July 31..
Love Island 2023 kicks off Monday 5th June at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
