When Tilda Swinton steps onto the crimson carpet, she stimulates our imaginations with the eclecticity of her fashion. Her arrival on the London Trend Awards on Dec. 5 turned out as such, with the colourful canvas painted on her costume designed by clothier Charles Jeffrey and the sculpted mohawk masterfully textured on her head.
Paired with a poppy crimson lip stain, her mohawk was half pompadour as London-based hairstylist Declan Sheils took the lead and gave her layers an inverted, blown-out look. It was fierce, artfully stylized, and even reminded us of the gold dagger-shaped crown her character wore on the battlefield in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Swinton’s undercut was tapered and pale on the sides whereas the strands instantly above the crown had been cuffed in with nice size. The ends of her hair fell inward and entwined across the brow.
In dialog with Trend, she defined that her attendance on the awards would later take the stage to current Jefferson Hack with the Particular Recognition Award for Cultural Curation. Swinton’s lip shade, painted by make-up artist Lesley Chilkes, stood out even in opposition to the backdrop of crimson lighting on stage.
