A wedding of pronounced minimalism with the imprint of human craftsmanship comes collectively WORLDa brand new desk lamp designed by Phillip Mambretti for Enrico Pellizzoni. Revealed on Milan Design Week 2023, Mambretti’s easy but refined mixture of perforated and stitched leatherwork frames a linear LED mild. Together with a milky white glass diffuser, the ensuing softened lighting creates a delicate interaction between mild and shadow.
Mambretti’s design is outlined by dozens of alternating cuts on the back and front of a stitched flattened spherical or oval leather-based shade, a characteristic supposed to dampen lighting. The leather-based lampshade itself influences the colour of the sunshine that shines by it, particularly within the hotter tanned leather-based iteration.
The form and scale evoke designs of a nautical mild sign, or with the thinner lampshade, a classic microphone.
The lampshade itself is designed to slip off simply, permitting for adjustments and changes over the lifetime of the lamp.
