Craft Gin Club really pull out all the stops, giving you everything you need for a night of relaxing by yourself or enjoying the company of your nearest and dearest.

In your monthly box you will find a full sized bottle of craft gin, the perfect tonic pairing, sweet and savoury snacks, all the ingredients and garnishes to make the cocktail of the month and a 56 page magazine. The full sized bottle of gin is always impressive and high quality, sourcing bottles from around the world – previous boxes have included Lantic Gin from Cornwall, Australian Forty Spotted Gin or a Provencé pink gin. We’ve also noticed that the bottles often have great designs, meaning your bar cart collection will shine in no time!

This all encompassing offering gives you the option of divvying out the G&Ts among the family, or relaxing for a read and a snack with your feet up.

Craft56 Scottish Gin Club

Best subscription for regional gin

Craft56’s Scottish Gin Club is premium but personal and is dedicated to promoting the best of the best from Scotland. This offering is centred on small-batch craft gins from Scotland, promising member-only exclusives, limited editions, new releases and all time Scottish favourites sourced from exciting independent Scottish producers.

The gins are paired with Scottish tonics or mixers and your first box also contains a freeze-dried garnish selection to finish off the perfect G&T. Notes give information on the distillery, perfect serve and tasting notes. We are also fans of the guarantee of a 70cl bottle each month, only varying to a 50cl bottle if it is a gin of ‘truly exceptional quality’. If you’re a proud Scot (or know someone who is!), this is the box for you.

I Love Gin offer a no-frills, value-for-money way to explore gin. Each box arrives with two gin miniatures and two complimentary tonics, amounting to four G&Ts (if you are disciplined with your servings).

interGIN

Best for expertly selected gin

What sets interGIN apart is that their boxes are curated by a Ginsarian (a resident gin expert). We’ve all been there: sat at the latest, trendy bar staring down a drinks menu devoid of anything that looks like home – thank goodness the person behind the bar knows everything. InterGIN have one such know-it-all.

Each month you are delivered a full bottle of craft gin, accompanied by plenty of ideal tonics and garnishes, seasonal treats, snacks, syrups, mixers and Gin magazine. It feels like a proper hamper to unbox each month and is a good option if you like the fun of additional extras to make it a full experience alongside just the gin.

You can choose whether to receive the box bi-monthly or quarterly: given the amount of product in each box, bi-monthly is definitely a less overwhelming option than monthly would have been. Each delivery is worth over £55 but you get it for £40, you can save even more money with the exclusive online discounts that come with membership. With your first box you even get the choice of an extra gift of last month’s box as a bonus, or a bouquet of flowers!

Sipsmith Sipping Society

Best subscription for experimental gin

The best thing about small batch gin is that you can have fun with it – you can experiment and make mistakes, allowing serendipity to intervene and produce remarkable results. The Sipsmith Sipping Society is all about the wonderful experiments.

Sipsmith sends the society’s members two 20cl bottles every two months, with each bottle being a new hand-crafted creation. We are huge fans of this one due to the almost speakeasy feel to it, the feeling that you have an inside track on the coolest new thing. The only problem is if you love it, it is going to be hard to have again! However, some now well-known Sipsmith flavours have started this way, such as their Lemon Drizzle Gin.

In the past, members have been treated to hot cross bun gin, barrel-aged martinez and strawberries & cream gin liqueur. What will your first delightfully quirky bottle be? The boxes arrive smartly packaged in a chic green box with green embossing (making it great for gifting). Choose between a bi-monthly or yearly subscription – the yearly is also available as a gift, where the lucky recipient will receive a mini 5cl Sipsmith bottle along with a gift card to announce their subscription.

Little Gin Box

Best gin subscription for miniatures

A simple budget option for anybody looking to explore the world of gin. For just £10 a month subscribers will receive two 50ml bottles of gin with each bottle typically coming from a different craft gin distillery. £10 a month is extremely good value considering that you can quite easily pay more than a tenner for a double G&T in many bars throughout the country, and that won’t be the top-shelf stuff you get in a Little Gin Box.

Also massively in this subscription’s favour is that it’s letterbox friendly, there’s fewer things more annoying than waiting all month for a delivery only to be greeted by a ‘sorry we missed you’ slip. In addition to two delicious bottles of gin, each box contains tasting notes for that month’s selection. If you like what you received there’s a 10% discount code included should you want to buy a full-sized bottle.

Subscriptions can be cancelled any time but there is also the option of purchasing a fixed-term subscription, ideal for birthday or Christmas gift. The question is: how much do you like the lucky person; three months, six months or 12 months?

Available from:
Little Gin Box (from £11 a month)
Red Letter Days (£55 for three months premium subscription, with garnishes and extra miniature each month)

The Gin To My Tonic

Best gin subscription for new releases

An exciting offering in partnership with tonic titans Fever Tree, The Gin To My Tonic is a gin subscription with plenty of bells, whistles and, of course, tonic (or lemonade). The key to this subscription is offering those involved an inside track on the world of gin, with subscribers given a new, never-seen-before bottle each month along with a carefully selected Fever Tree tonic, hand-picked to match the flavour profile of the gin. If you’re not a tonic person you can opt for lemonade with your gin instead. Gin enthusiasts are also treated to regular ‘ginny’ surprises and exclusive deals such as 10% off Gin Festival tickets, with bashes taking place all over the country.

Subscribers can also take part in live virtual tasting sessions which are held during the last week of each month, where you can learn about the botanicals behind the month’s bottle as well as illuminating backstories about the distillery.
