Summer time has formally began! (Photograph: ITV)

Love Island is kicking off a long, hot summer tonight with more sun, sea and singletons – just three months after Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinan won the winter series.

Producers hope viewers will be glued to the betrayal, broken hearts, ‘icks’ and dumping in the ITV2 summer reality show, after ratings fell on South Africa’s Love Island over the winter.

That said, everyone loved new host Maya Jama and her stunning outfits, who also returns for this latest series.

And the winter show delivered some shocks, especially when beloved Tanya Manhenga dumped Shaq Muhammad in a legendary Casa Amor twist.

Not to mention some sensational bombshells and feuds (Zara Lackenby-Brown and Olivia Hawkins, anyone?).

Now he’s back in the refurbished Majorcan villa, with a brand new Hideaway and all-important fire pit, and the The Love Island 2023 lineup includes a soap star’s daughter, a footballer’s son and the star of a Burna Boy music video.

So when and where can you watch all the drama?

Here’s what you need to know.

What time does Love Island start tonight?

Love Island starts at 9pm on ITV2 tonight (June 5) – and in a planning triumph, it’s right after Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.

The episode lasts an hour and 35 minutes and is followed by Family Guy.

Let’s hope there’s a new buzzword, because we’re so about “unreal.”

Series 10 will air as usual on weeknights, plus Sundays.

Fans will remember that Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned winners of Summer 2022 Series 8.

The couple now lives together and Ekin-Su appeared on Dancing on Ice.

What’s going to happen tonight?

First time guys And girls enter the villa together in the opening episode.

Esthetician Ruchee Gurung, 24, and esthetician Jess Harding, 22, are the first in, and soon they are joined by gas engineer Mitchel Taylor, 26, Scottish model Ella Thomas, 23, and businessman Andre Furtado, 21.

Then Maya Jama enters and reveals that the public have already decided who should pair.

So instead of choosing their own mate, the islanders will be matched without any say.

Then the remaining five islanders enter one by one – and it seems that Ella and semi-pro football player Tyrique Hyde, 24, already know each other…

Everyone gathers around the fire pit where Maya announces the first pairing.

Maya says, “I think it’s fair to say on Love Island that you should 100% expect the unexpected!”
